Mental performance coach helping competitive athletes build consistency through structured mental performance training.
I’ve spent more than 30 years coaching athletes at the highest levels of football, from the NFL to major college programs across the country. Throughout that journey, one lesson became impossible to ignore: talent alone is rarely the difference-maker. The athletes who consistently perform at their best are the ones who develop the mental skills to handle pressure, adversity, and expectations. As a former college athlete and longtime NFL and NCAA coach, I have worked with elite performers at every stage of development.
My coaching career has included leadership roles with the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, San Diego Chargers, Baylor, Nebraska, Maryland, Houston, Rice, and Middle Tennessee, where I currently serve as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. Along the way, I have helped develop NFL players, Pro Bowl athletes, conference champions, and professional prospects. What ultimately led me to Mental Performance Center™ was seeing how many talented athletes struggled with confidence, performance anxiety, and self-doubt, even when they possessed all the physical tools to succeed. I wanted to help athletes develop the mental side of performance with the same structure and intentionality used to develop physical skills.
Today, I work with high school, college, and professional athletes who want to strengthen confidence, improve focus under pressure, recover quickly from mistakes, and perform more consistently when it matters most. One of the experiences I am most proud of involved helping a Maryland athlete rebuild confidence after a devastating shoulder injury. Through consistent mental training and preparation, he regained belief in himself, excelled at his Pro Day, and ultimately became a third-round NFL Draft selection. As a certified Mental Performance Center™ coach, I use a proven, evidence-based system to help athletes build confidence, resilience, and mental toughness through consistent habits that create lasting results.
I do not give pep talks. I do not tell athletes to try harder or believe in themselves more. I teach specific, trainable mental skills that change how athletes prepare, compete, and recover.
The athletes I work with learn how to manage pressure, reset after mistakes, and show up with confidence, not because they feel different, but because they have practiced the skills that create those outcomes.
Everything I do is built on the Mental Performance Center™ system: evidence-based, structured, and designed for real competition. Not theory. Application.

"The position my son plays doesn't give you much room to unravel and MPC gave him the tools to handle that pressure. He has a reset routine that actually works and a calmness we hadn't seen from him before. His coaches brought up his leadership without us even saying anything. But what's surprised us most is how it's shown up away from football, the way he carries himself, how he handles hard conversations. He's not just becoming a better player. He's growing up."

"Carter has always been a competitive kid, but learning how to reset after mistakes has taken his game to another level. He stays locked in now, a bad shift doesn't turn into a bad period anymore. He's more vocal on the ice, more confident with the puck, and when he comes home after a tough game he actually leaves it at the rink. The biggest thing for us? He believes he belongs out there. That mindset shift has been everything."
